JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a dynamic and forward-thinking campaign focused on electing Devon Lawson to both Position 6 on the McKenzie School District #68 School Board in Finn Rock, Oregon, and Position 6 (at-large) for the Lane Education Service District Board of Directors in Lane County, OR. Our mission is to bring innovative, inclusive, and effective leadership to these pivotal educational roles. We aim to win both elections with a clear majority, implementing strategies that resonate with and mobilize our community towards a brighter educational future.

 

As the Deputy Campaign Manager, you will play a crucial role in steering the campaign towards victory. You'll work closely with the Campaign Manager to oversee daily operations, implement strategic plans, and ensure that our message reaches every corner of the constituency. Your insight, creativity, and leadership will be instrumental in mobilizing volunteers, engaging with voters, and executing a winning strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Campaign Manager in developing and implementing comprehensive campaign strategies.

  • Coordinate day-to-day campaign activities, ensuring they align with overall objectives.

  • Manage campaign staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.

  • Oversee the execution of field operations, including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and voter registration drives.

  • Monitor campaign progress and performance, suggesting adjustments to strategies as necessary.

  • Serve as a key liaison to community groups, stakeholders, and the media, representing the campaign in a professional and positive manner.

  • Assist in budget management and ensure fiscal responsibility across campaign activities.

  • Contribute to fundraising efforts, identifying potential donors and assisting in event planning.

 

Requirements & Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • At least 2 years of experience in political campaigns, legislative offices, or related roles, with a proven track record of success.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

  • A deep commitment to education and the specific goals of Devon’s campaign.

  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flexible approach to challenges.

  • Proficiency in digital tools and platforms relevant to modern campaigning.
