JOB DESCRIPTION

Dougherty For Delegate is seeking an experienced Deputy Campaign manager to support the campaign’s efforts ahead of the 2025 general election. Dougherty For Delegate is a highly competitive battleground House of Delegates campaign. The ideal candidate is a hardworking leader who is passionate about electing Lindsey Dougherty, and protecting and expanding the House majority. 

 

The Deputy Campaign Manager will report directly to the Campaign Manager. The start date for this role is ASAP. This is an in-person position, based in the Greater Richmond Area, reporting to the Campaign Manager and termed through November 30th, 2025.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Track, manage metrics, and staff candidate doorknocking in coordination with the Campaign Manager and House Caucus Field Director.

  • Build and strengthen local community relationships with key organizations and activists on behalf of the campaign.

  • Manage campaign operations as it relates to yard sign and literature distribution, as well as other needed campaign and office supplies.

  • Recruit volunteers for non-field events, including but not limited to: advertising shoots, parades, and meet & greets.

  • Work with the Campaign Manager and House Caucus to identify and address potential gaps in the political and grassroots aspects of the campaign.

  • Draft talking points as needed for volunteers and the Candidate.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ cycles of experience on campaign teams - preferably experience managing staff and/or managing programs, especially within political or organizing

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills

  • Solid time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to quickly shift priorities and projects based on the campaign’s needs

  • Virginia ties are a plus

  • Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to relocate if necessary
