The Democratic Attorneys General Association provides political and policy support to Democratic State Attorneys General and candidates in their mission to protect citizens, promote progress, and support civil rights.
Title: Deputy Campaign Services Director
Reports To: Director of Campaigns Services
Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000
**Purpose: **The Deputy Campaign Services Director is responsible for implementing DAGA’s political strategy and manages relationships with Attorneys General and candidates. The Deputy Director works closely with the Director of Campaigns Services to provide necessary support to campaigns. The Deputy Campaign Services Director will be responsible for managing relationships for a set of states out of the 30+ up in 2026.
The Deputy Campaign Services Director position requires a high level of proven leadership and judgment and must demonstrate knowledge of principal and campaign management. Experience in Organizing or Fundraising is preferred. Additionally, they must have the capacity to work independently with elected leaders and staff in complex political situations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Attorneys General, declared candidates, prospective candidates, and their senior teams
Travel to target states as needed to assess campaign infrastructure and provide strategic guidance to strengthen operations
Establish and monitor fundraising benchmarks to ensure campaign accountability, proactively addressing shortfalls and identifying opportunities for growth
Lead recruitment efforts in target states, including interviewing, hiring, and placing key campaign staff
Collaborate with in-state partners and state party leadership to ensure Attorneys General are fully integrated and effectively represented in coordinated efforts
Project manage cross-departmental support for campaigns, clearly communicating priorities and deliverables across DAGA teams
Collect, synthesize, and distribute relevant campaign intelligence to DAGA leadership and key stakeholders
Oversee candidate schedule at DAGA conferences, and prepare detailed memos and strategic briefings for candidates
Prepare and submit regular reports to the Campaign Services Director outlining campaign progress, risks, and support needs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree;
2-3 cycles of campaign experience with at least one cycle directly managing a principal
Knowledge building a strong fundraising or field program is a plus
Experience managing and building fundraising operations on political or advocacy campaigns
Experience successfully managing and advising staff and principals
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience drafting strategic documents and tracking documents or spreadsheets
Ability to independently operate in the field with state leadership, staff, and local constituencies
Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities across states
An outside of the box thinker with a good sense of humor and a positive attitude
