Summary: In 2023, Ohio became the nation’s foremost battleground for protecting abortion rights - winning a ballot initiative fight that gave hope to Democrats across the country. In 2024, Ohio will be the center of the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown, a champion for workers and the deciding vote on critical legislation. This year offers Democrats the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.
The Deputy Data Director will report directly to the Data & Analytics Director and work in close partnership with other Coordinated departments. This role will require interdepartmental collaboration and a strong understanding of related technical skills and project management. This position is full time and based in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
● Design, build and maintain reports to support key programmatic priorities across several Coordinated teams, including Organizing, Distributed, Coalitions, and Voter Access Programs
● Provide timely & strategic analysis of voterfile and election data
● Develop pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into reports and tools as needed
● Assist the Data & Analytics Director in targeting and resource allocation
● Train staff on and monitor data standards in coordination with the Organizing and Voter Access teams to ensure proper data capture and hygiene
● Respond to data support requests, questions and flags
● Provide VAN support to aid strategic objectives
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
● At least one previous cycle of campaign or equivalent political experience; familiarity with Votebuilder/ VAN preferred
● A technical skill set that includes familiarity or proficiency in a variety of programming languages and software such as Google Suite, SQL, Python, QGIS and R
● Desire to ask questions, receive constructive feedback, and learn new technical skills and platforms
● Ability to communicate effectively within teams and across departments, especially explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
● Willingness to work in a fast-paced campaign environment that may require long, irregular hours, including some nights and weekends, within the parameters of your Collective Bargaining Agreement
● A solutions-oriented approach to challenges and ability to think creatively to solve unique problems ● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities at once
● Commitment to electing Ohio Democrats up and down the ballot

Deputy Data and Analytics Directors report to the Data and Analytics Director and are represented by IBEW Local 1466. This position is salaried at $6,000 per month and provides full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, and voluntary vision insurance. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and within the parameters of your Collective Bargaining Agreement.
