ABOUT THE ROLE
In 2024, Relentless is running a first-of-its-kind compensated relational program at scale across battleground states using Rally. This program will hire 20,000+ low turnout voters to become relational organizers in their communities and turn their friends and families out to vote. We’re looking for a creative, experienced digital organizer to help power and scale this program.
The Deputy Digital Organizing Director will oversee the digital organizing team across battleground states.
A great Digital Organizing Deputy Director is someone who lives and breathes all things digital. You are an extremely organized person that enjoys getting creative on new ways to activate and talk to voters in a virtual space. You can stay on top of deadlines and priorities while also seeing the big picture of the election cycle.
The Deputy Digital Organizing Director will report directly to the Digital Organizing Director and assist them in managing the program’s day-to-day operations. This role will hire, onboard, and manage staff, oversee the health of the program through metrics and tests, and complete other duties necessary to running an effective and engaging digital program.

Compensation: $7,500/month
Schedule: Full time
This is a full-time, remote, and temporary position with an estimated start date of May 7th, 2024 and an end date of November 15, 2024.
Provide strategic, supervisory and task execution support to the Digital Organizing Director to ensure the Digital Organizing team maintains a healthy trajectory towards achieving program goals
Manage a team of digital staff, including conducting weekly 1:1s with direct reports and running daily syncs to ensure follow-through on tasks and deadlines
Oversee the creation of digital organizing materials, including SMS scripts, voter information guides, persuasion content, relational conversation tips, and more. This workstream includes reviewing/approving content and being ready to jump in and write a draft when needed.
Proactively identify ways to make Digital Organizing processes run more efficiently and increase impact, and work with the Digital Organizing Director to make them happen
Lead digital staff through a fast-paced, high-impact electoral program that will necessitate some quick pivots, and help to foster a culture of iteration and teamwork
Assist in the hiring process for part-time and full-time staff; taking screening calls, sitting in on interviews and making hiring recommendations
Assist in the creation of digital staff onboarding, including creating internal training materials around relational organizing, digital tools, and best practices
Help communicate team needs interdepartmentally, serving at times as the representative for the digital team on leadership calls
Other tasks as assigned in relation to the success of the department
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ cycles of experience in digital organizing/distributed/digital advocacy work
Experience managing staff - either paid or volunteer
Experience running at least one distributed digital organizing program
Willingness to experiment, teach yourself new tools and platforms, work in a fast-paced environment, and figure out tape-and-glue solutions when there isn’t time for perfect
Familiarity with digital organizing tools and platforms, including having a high level of comfort with at least two of the following types of tools: peer-to-peer texting, blast/shortcode texting, email, relational tools
Ability to work remotely but also collaboratively. This position is entirely virtual and applicants will need access to reliable internet and be proficient in using online tools (Zoom, Google workspace, etc) to do this job.
Not required but would love to know if you have any of the below:
Experience working with relational programs
Experience running virtual trainings
Design (including Canva – we love Canva!) experience
Experience with video editing and captioning
This work will require being available nights and weekends during peak program days and as Election Day nears. The Deputy Digital Organizing Director should expect to be online and available six days a week from September 3rd-November 6th.
