JOB DESCRIPTION
Drive Agency is looking for a Deputy Digital Research Director to join our Center on Digital Influence. This role sits at the intersection of social listening research and campaign/communications strategy. This person will help synthesize social listening – including mis/disinformation – into actionable recommendations to help campaigns and progressive organizations navigate online threats and run adaptive, modern, and impactful communications. This person will take ownership over regular research reports in addition to supporting with rapid response requests related to breaking news events.
The ideal candidate is a digital native who is experienced in working with political campaigns, in campaign advocacy, or in community organizing, and is interested in exploring how traditional and social media impacts politics and voters.
Experience with developing digital content strategy and in other communications functions is highly valued. Direct experience with issues related to disinformation, extremism, or election interference is a plus, but candidates who are interested in these topics are also encouraged to apply. Experience using social media or social listening tools in a work capacity is also helpful but not a requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducting social listening research and drafting written summary memos
Assisting with workflow management, including ownership over a set of regular reports and helping other staff to stay organized, on time, and according to quality standards
Helping to develop strategic recommendations for clients
Adaptable to the changing needs of a campaign or news cycle, including producing same-day, rapid response insights and occasional “after hours” work when needed
Staying attuned to current events and news related to US elections and politics
Providing other support for senior staff and clients on an as-needed basis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1-2 cycles of professional political experience (e.g. campaigns, consulting, organizing).
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to stay organized and juggle requests under tight deadlines
Comfortable with Google Suite
Understanding of the US political and social media landscapes, trends, and current events
Takes initiative, is solution-oriented, and is comfortable wading into details and the big picture.
Experience with social media in a professional capacity is a plus
Experience developing content strategy or other communications materials is a plus
Language skills outside of English are a plus
Experience or interest in supporting constituencies most harmed by online mis/disinformation, including communities of color, immigrant communities, and LGBTQ+ groups is a plus
