Job Summary:
Virginia House Democrats Deputy Finance Director - Battlegrounds
The Virginia House Democratic Caucus is building out a robust Finance team that will play a key role in ensuring that we retain & expand our majority in 2025. The Deputy Finance Director for Battlegrounds will work closely with both candidates and Democratic House of Delegates members in battleground districts to ensure that they have the resources, assistance, and guidance to achieve their fundraising goals. They will also be crucial to ensuring that the House Democratic Caucus achieves our finance goals for the cycle.
The start date for this role is January 2nd, 2025. This is an ** in-person** position, based in Richmond, VA, reporting to the Executive Director and termed through** December 31st, 2025**.

There will be two Deputy Finance Directors for the Caucus for the 2025 cycle, with the other position focusing on supporting incumbent Democratic Delegates in non-battleground districts.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with candidates in competitive districts to draft and executive finance plans, fundraising strategies, and campaign budgets.
Train candidates and campaign staff in fundraising & budgeting skills and best practices.
Assist in the hiring process for finance staff across competitive races.
Create & maintain strong working relationships with candidates, campaign staff, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
Track and report on the status of fundraising & budgeting
Managing, tracking, and overseeing call time.
Conducting donor research on potential local, statewide, and national donors for candidates and the Caucus.
Managing, advising, and staffing fundraising events for candidates & the Caucus.
Work with the Digital Director to maximize fundraising programs for the Caucus and candidates’ campaigns.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum one cycle of experience in political fundraising and campaigns, with a strong track record of success.
Familiarity with call time tools (Numero, Calltime.AI, etc.) and Excel / GoogleSheets.
Excitement to create and maintain strong relationships with leadership, members, candidates, partners, and staff.
Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organization skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals.
Team player with a positive attitude who is able to motivate others.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide.
Commitment to winning and retaining a Democratic majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.
Travel in-state, as well as evening and weekend work, will be required.
Must be willing to relocate to the Richmond, VA area.
