JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary: 

The Virginia House Democratic Caucus is building out a robust Finance team that will play a key role in ensuring that we retain & expand our majority in 2025. The Deputy Finance Director for Incumbent Protection will work closely with all 51 Democratic Members of the House of Delegates to ensure that they have the resources, assistance, and guidance to achieve their fundraising goals. They will also be crucial to ensuring that the House Democratic Caucus achieves our fundraising goals for the cycle. 

 

The scheduled start date for this position is May 19th, 2025, but this can be adjusted as necessary. This is an in-person position, based in Richmond, VA, reporting to the Finance Director and termed through December 31st, 2025. 

 

There will be two Deputy Finance Directors for the Caucus for the 2025 cycle, with the other position focusing on supporting candidates running in battleground districts

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling, managing, and staffing the Richmond lobby events program for all Democratic Delegates. 

  • Working with non-battleground Delegates and campaign staff to set fundraising goals, draft and execute finance plans, and create an events schedule.

  • Creating, executing, and staffing local, statewide, and national events for the Caucus and Delegates.

  • Assist with the hiring and staffing process for Delegates’ campaigns

  • Training Delegates and campaign staff on fundraising best practices & skills. 

  • Researching potential local, statewide, and national donors, and staffing / overseeing call time. 

  • Work with the digital team to maximize email, digital, and text fundraising programs for the Caucus and Delegates’ campaigns. 

  • Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the VHDC finance program including: data entry, database management, prospecting, etc.

 

Compensation: 

Salary for this position is $5,000 - $7,000 / month depending on qualifications and experience. All Caucus staff are provided with a full health care & benefits package, including vision and dental. The cost is fully covered by the employer. Employer-sponsored 401(k)s are also available to all employees.
