Position Summary:
A competitive New York City Mayoral campaign is seeking a full-time Deputy Finance Director, who is passionate about bringing strong experienced leadership to New York City to deliver a safer, more affordable, liveable, better run for city for all New Yorkers. The Deputy Finance Director will be directly involved in all fundraising-related activities, and will be responsible for supporting the finance team in managing the campaign’s fundraising operation and day-to-day activities. The campaign is looking for smart and energized self-starters, who have excellent communication and organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Call time manager; staffing candidate call time including preparation of calls, detailed note taking, and relevant follow up
Even support; help build, support, and staff fundraising events; including, preparing materials for events, host maintenance, and assisting with day-of logistics
Fundraising organization; update and maintain fundraising databases, lists, and materials
Scheduling support; prep briefing materials, update fundraising calendar
Compliance management; track matching money for finance plan, work closely with campaign treasurer to organize and conduct outreach to reclaim eligible matching funds, ensure all compliance related-forms are in-hand and executed properly
Staff the candidate at relevant meetings and events
Fundraising Operations:
Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including managing logistics and follow-up.
Coordinate donor outreach efforts, including calls, emails, and event invitations.
Process donations and ensure timely acknowledgment of contributions.
Donor Management:
Maintain and update donor databases with accurate contact and contribution information.
Generate donor reports and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
Research potential donors and prepare briefing materials for the Finance Director and candidate.
Compliance and Record-Keeping:
Ensure all financial activities comply with campaign finance laws and regulations.
Assist in preparing and filing required financial disclosures and reports.
Maintain organized records of contributions, expenditures, and donor communications.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including scheduling meetings and preparing materials.
Handle correspondence with donors and vendors in a professional and timely manner.
Monitor finance-related inquiries and direct them to the appropriate team member.
Qualifications:
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in finance, fundraising, or administrative roles, preferably in a political or nonprofit setting.
Familiarity with campaign finance laws and donor management systems (e.g., NGP, ActBlue) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with donor management tools.
Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Compensation:
Salary is $6500-7500/month commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
