JOB DESCRIPTION

Deputy Operations Director - The Wisco Project

The great swing state of Wisconsin often feels like the center of the political and public policy universe, especially during an election year. Major outcomes from abortion rights to voting access often ride on just how many Wisconsinites decide to stay home or show up at the polls. A lot of pressure, right?

Luckily, Wisconsin has a super power: it’s young voters. Over 300,000 college students call Wisconsin home – ** when we organize on campuses, students vote. **

Building on work started during the April 2023 Supreme Court Election, we’re building a scrappy and innovative organization that will organize and inspire  thousands of college students to vote in the 2024 elections.

What Will You Do?

The Deputy Operations Director will be responsible for helping manage the operations and logistics of The Wisco Project’s 2024 programming.

This mid-level position will work closely with the Operations Director and organizers on the ground to maintain day-to-day logistics, accurately track expenses, fulfill supplies requests, and coordinate procurement and distribution needs. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assistance with the planning and execution of creative campus organizing tactics, including voter festivals, goofy stunts, and events.

  • Ensurance of logistical support for an expansive organizing program, including working with vendors, ordering merchandise and materials, completing regular supply audits, etc.

  • Securing campaign offices and storage units, assisting with the negotiation of leases, and setting up/maintaining utilities.

  • Facilitation of budget requests and assistance for department heads in making budget-informed decisions.

  • Development and implementation of internal systems to ensure all departments are working together in coordination.

  • All other duties as assigned

Who Are You?

A successful candidate for this role will:

  • Experience with campaign operations, specifically campus organizing is a plus.

  • Love creating systems, processes, spreadsheets, and have a knack for logistics.

  • Excited to get creative in the development of youth voter outreach tactics and systems.

  • Be scrappy and flexible; able to manage several tasks simultaneously.

  • Be a self-starter, exceptionally well-organized, and have strong time management skills.
