Position Summary: The DCCC is hiring District Deputy Organizing Directors to work on competitive congressional races for the 2024 cycle. They are responsible for assisting District Organizing Directors in developing and implementing strong organizing programs while also recruiting, training, and managing volunteers where needed.
This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
Responsibilities Include:
Working with the District Organizing Director to plan and execute the in-district organizing plan to turn out Democratic voters.
Assisting with the hiring and day-to-day coaching of field organizers to build up a strong volunteer program, conduct voter contact, and host events.
Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key activists.
Recruiting, managing, and training volunteers to participate in direct voter contact, including but not limited to door-to-door canvassing, high traffic canvassing, voter registration, and relational organizing.
Other department responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
1+ cycles of campaign organizing experience is strongly preferred.
Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers in some capacity is required.
Proficiency in VAN or PDI, Google Docs, and MobilizeAmerica.
Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.
Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and creatively.
Access to a vehicle or other, reliable means of transportation.
Draws from team members’ strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents; contributes where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues with regular feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the team
