JOB DESCRIPTION

The Christina Bohannan for Congress campaign is seeking a Deputy Organizing Director to lead a diverse and robust team of managers and organizers in Iowa in 2024. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the grassroots turnout operation needed to flip this** highly targeted race. In 2020, the Democratic candidate lost by _six votes. _**This position reports to the Organizing Director and is based in Iowa City, Iowa. 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coach and manage a team of organizers

  • Develop strategies and systems that lead your regions to successfully meet and exceed daily, weekly, and phase organizing goals, as well as maintain data integrity. 

  • Assist the Organizing Director in program development and execution. 

  • Organize a variety of events, in person and virtually  

  • Engage with key local Democratic county parties, organizations, and community leaders

  • Other responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Job Requirements 

  • 1-2+ cycles of organizing experience with staff management responsibilities, experience managing organizers is preferred. 

  • Ability to create a motivating and inclusive culture both in specific super-regions and statewide. 

  • Experience hiring and training a sizable team. 

  • Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping them grow and succeed. 

  • Experience working in large, metric driven voter contact programs. 

  • Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to relocate if necessary. 

 

Compensation: 

  • $5,000 - 6,000/month 

  • Employment through November, 2024

  • There is room for advancement/promotion within the campaign 

  • Supporter housing upon request
