JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Deputy Organizing Director - DFW

Location: DFW, Texas

Reports To: DFW Organizing Director

Start Date: Rolling ASAP

End Date: October 15th

Total Monthly Compensation: $4,800

Salary:  $4,000 per month

Stipends

Health Insurance: $500

Gas Stipend: $200

Phone & Computer: $100

 

Job Summary:

The Deputy Organizing Director will work closely with the Organizing Director to oversee and execute the organization’s grassroots organizing and voter registration strategies. This role involves managing organizing staff, coordinating outreach efforts, developing voter registration strategies, and ensuring the successful implementation of voter registration programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Organizing Strategies:
  • Lead Voter Registration across target campuses. 

  • Assist the Organizing Director in developing and implementing comprehensive organizing strategies.

  • Contribute to the creation of outreach strategies and training materials.

  1. Team Management:
  • Supervise and mentor Cornerstone Fellows, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.

  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development sessions.

  1. Data Management:
  • Manage the entering and collection of data. 
  1. Problem-Solving and Crisis Management:
  • Address and resolve issues that arise within the organizing team or during voter registration activities.

  • Provide solutions to unforeseen challenges and ensure continuity of voter registration efforts.

  1. Reporting and Communication:
  • Report progress and outcomes of voter registration activities to the Organizing Director and other senior staff.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and fellows 

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 cycle of organizing experience

  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams.

  • Strong understanding of organizing principles, voter registration strategies, and community engagement.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of flexibility.

  • Must currently reside in the Dallas Fort Worth area and/or be willing to relocate to begin employment. 

Additional Information:

  • Position will require regular evening and weekend work

  • Applicants must have reliable access to a car, computer, and phone

  • Regular travel around the Dallas Fort Worth area will be required
