Deputy Political Director
Reports to: Political Director
Location: Miami, Florida
Debbie for Florida is seeking a ** Deputy Political Director** to help flip Florida and retire Rick Scott. The Deputy Political Director will help to develop and implement a comprehensive outreach and engagement strategy to reach, engage, and mobilize key stakeholders, communities, and coalitions for the campaign. This position will be based out of our Coral Gables office.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Political Director to cultivate strong relationships with elected officials, allied organizations, local Democratic Committees, and State Central and Steering Committee members
Assist with the planning and execution of events and meetings, specifically coordinating logistics and build
Collaborate across departments to monitor relevant events throughout the state, ensuring the campaign maintains a visible presence and effectively coordinates on events, messaging, and programming
Provide regular reports on political developments, stakeholder engagement, and outreach efforts to support strategic decision-making
Represent the campaign at local events, embodying our values of inclusivity, integrity, and social justice in all interactions
Assist with administrative tasks for the department, including updating lists, drafting memos, facilitating outreach and notifications to stakeholders, and composing public-facing materials on behalf of the department
Fulfill other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Florida ties
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things
Attention to detail, an ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong organizational skills
At least two years of experience in relevant work for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, elected official, or non-profit.
Passion for flipping Florida and holding Rick Scott accountable
Access to cell phone and a laptop
A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Miami, Florida
A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism
Valued Non-essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience working with a principal
Spanish fluency
Salary: The salary for this position starts at $6,500 per month with the exact salary depending on experience.
Hours: This position’s schedule will involve occasional earlier morning, evening, and weekend work dependent on the Congresswoman’s campaign schedule. This role will also require travel across the state.
