Georgia Youth Justice Coalition seeks a full-time ** Development and Operations Manager** ​to assist in the growth of operational infrastructure that can support youth leaders and in the execution of our fundraising plan to expand our impact.

About the Position

As the Development and Operations Manager, you will work directly with the Executive Director to support the internal operations of and ensure ongoing sustainability for GYJC so that we can deliver powerful victories for young Georgians. The ideal candidate for this role is a systems person who understands the power of data and communication to build a healthy organization capable of winning changes for a multiracial base of young Georgians. They are a self-starter, excellent communicator, and a highly organized team player.

 

Development Responsibilities

  • Build on supporter database by researching new institutional and individual funders and ensuring engagement and acknowledgement for existing supporters.

  • Maintain active donor database, development calendar, trackers, and materials.

  • Assist with accurate and timely reporting in compliance with grant agreements, ensuring supporters know the narrative and organizing success of young Georgians.

  • Support and assist the Executive Director in the creation of fundraising products and regular completion of fundraising call time, briefings, and communications.

 

Operations Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for staff questions regarding internal operations relating to communications platforms, subscriptions, workspace management, and payroll.

  • Work with a bookkeeping and accounting firm to reconcile internal and financial data.

  • Provide internal event and logistics support for staff meetings, retreats, orientations, trainings, events, and initiatives (e.g. member mailings or staff supply distribution).

  • Assist with improvements to organizational policies and procedures, maintain team calendar, and facilitate staff appreciation to ensure support for the full staff team.

 

Core Team Member Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Executive Director is up-to-date on internal needs and escalate issues as they arise, acting with discretion and handling information with care.

  • Participate in organization-wide base engagement activities such as recruitment and community outreach, and attendance at GYJC events when availability permits.

  • Foster and maintain a positive, productive team culture.

 

Qualifications

  • Growth mindset with the desire to learn new skills and systems, ability to take and implement feedback, and drive towards ambitious goals

  • Strong commitment to progressive values and to do the work that needs to be done

  • Some volunteer or internship experience with organizing, fundraising, or data preferred

  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, organize information with attention to detail, and build strong relationships with genuine enthusiasm for youth leadership

  • Ability to understand how to take an inclusive lens in all aspects of work, particularly across lines of difference such as race, class, sexual orientation, or gender identity

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Self-starter who is intrinsically motivated and able to work independently

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

 

Working at the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Executive Director. Car travel within the state of Georgia will be required 10-15% for donor meetings and organization-wide base engagement activities. This role is remote, but applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Georgia.

 

Salary: $42,000 - $49,000 based on experience
