Purpose:
The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) seeks to hire a Development Manager to support the Director of Major Gifts in managing and growing the relationships with Labor, Progressive organizations, and major donors. This person will work closely with senior level members of the Development team to meet aggressive fundraising goals for the 2026 election cycle and beyond. The ideal candidate will be professional, resourceful, results-oriented, and enthusiastic about providing critical support to the finance team.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Execute and solicit donors for a mid-level donor fundraising program and manage key National Finance Committee members to raise $500,000 this election cycle.
● Together with the Director of Major Gifts establish other programmatic fundraising avenues to grow the individual donor portfolio
● Create and execute stewardship strategies for funders to increase their engagement with DAGA
● Support the Director of Major Gifts in all fundraising activities with Labor, Progressive, and philanthropic partners
● Support and assist DAGA’s National Finance Committee and committee members to reach their fundraising goals
● Lead donor research, and complete introductory outreach to donors for the grassroots fundraising program as well as other line items associated with the major gifts program
● Manage donor acknowledgements in tandem with the Development team and DAGA leadership
● Donor engagement, including scheduling meetings with donors, facilitating high-level donor communications and completing all necessary follow up from meetings/calls
● Event logistics for DAGA fundraising events, including creating invitations, managing RSVPs, and coordinating day of logistics
● Coordinate and support DAGA consultants and vendors
● Prepare briefing materials for AGs and DAGA leadership
● Manage departmental administrative duties, including managing purchase orders and invoices, creating invoices, and updating the department database and marketing materials
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree required
● 2+ years of fundraising experience
● Worked with, solicited, and grew a major donor portfolio of donors at the $1,000-$25,000 level
● Experience working in fundraising for a 527 Political Organization, Federal PAC, or on a campaign preferred
● Donor relationship management and strong knowledge of stakeholders
● Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, particularly in briefing materials for principals and the development of proposals to donors and other pitch materials
● Commitment to a broader understanding of educating the public on the work of Attorneys General
● Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
● Results-oriented with a proven ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines and objectives
● Project management skills that enable the juggling of multiple tasks, allocating and optimizing resources, and managing timelines
● Sense of humor and positive attitude

Details:
● Willing to travel (25% of time).
● In DC or willing to relocate
Closing:
● DAGA’s office is open 9 AM – 6 PM Eastern, but extended and nontraditional work hours are required.
● DAGA offices are in downtown DC.
