About the Position

The Digital Coordinator will be part of the creative, committed, and impactful digital team at Bend the Arc. The person in this role will support national and local digital work, including digital organizing tools, email, web, and social media.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital coordination for Chapters. Collaborate with local leaders and staff organizers to plan, draft, build, and launch digital content for chapters — including email blasts, text and dialer campaigns, digital advocacy tools, and event pages.

  • Digital coordination for National. Project manage the production of emails, advocacy tools, and website pages, including coordinating staff across teams for input and approvals, implement and test to ensure quality standards, and keep us on a timeline to meet our deadlines.

  • Support social media work. Contribute to drafting and creating content and posting for Bend the Arc’s social media channels. Monitor, moderate, and engage with Bend the Arc’s community on social media.

  • Help us learn from the data. Collect and report data analytics on the performance of digital content, from email open rates to new social media followers.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Position Specific:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a digital or communications role, including independently executing digital tactics towards goals. 

  • Proficient at using digital systems to manage content (CMS) and data (CRM), as well as social media platforms.

  • Exceptional writing skills, including ability to quickly respond to breaking news in a bold, moral voice, turn complex ideas into compelling digital content, and create culturally relevant Jewish content and inspiration

  • Strong project management skills; capable and motivated to proactively move work and collaborate in a remote work environment

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and theory of change of Bend the Arc and to organizing people as Jews in justice movement work

  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion, commitment to anti-oppression practices and experience centering BIPOC people in a multi-racial organizing context

  • Competency in a range of software applications and learning new ones. The candidate will use Google Suites, Slack, Signal, Canva, and potentially more to support their work.

Must be able to operate a computer, video platforms, and other office machinery throughout working hours. Must be able to identify, discern, and communicate across different platforms (chat, email, phone and video conferencing), and collect and analyze information in databases and spreadsheets. Must occasionally travel by air and ground transportation and move about to attend conferences, events, and an annual staff retreat in accordance with organizational guidelines on travel due to COVID. Any work related travel would be paid for by Bend the Arc.

 

Compensation, Benefits, and Work Schedule 

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, and after six months of employment, is eligible for Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice's newly formed collective bargaining unit. The annual salary range is $65,000-$75,000 (prorated for part time: $32,500-37,500 annual) commensurate with experience. Statistics show that women and candidates from marginalized identities are less likely to negotiate salary and benefits, so to maintain equity, Bend the Arc has moved away from the culture of negotiation. When we make an offer, we offer the highest salary within the salary range that we assess matches the individual’s qualifications and fit for the role.

 

Part-time, temporary employees accrue paid sick time off.
