The ideal Digital Director is someone excited to get to know, and then share with the city, the authentic Mike Quigley—his voice, instincts, and personality—and translate that into creative, engaging content that is fun, joyful, and compelling, while clearly communicating his vision and showcasing his outsized qualifications to lead Chicago.

  • Lead the creation of and post engaging, creative, and high-quality social media content (photo, video, written, live video)

  • Balance creative storytelling with clear communication of policy positions and Mike’s extensive experiences/history of results-driven public service

  • Build and manage day-to-day social media interactions with engaged viewers across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, BlueSky, Substack and YouTube

  • Staff the candidate to capture real-time content and moments

  • Collaborate closely with senior staff to ensure message alignment across all campaign communications

  • Monitor trends, analytics, and platform performance to continuously optimize strategy

  • Support rapid response and real-time digital messaging around campaign events and news

  • Maintain a consistent, compelling, and distinctive campaign brand online

  • Manage the campaign fellows program alongside the Field Director to empower fellows to participate in the brainstorming, creation and editing or social media content

  • Amplify content generated by Mike’s official duties as a member of Congress

Experience, Skills, and Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content creation, and digital storytelling

  • Excellent writing skills and ability to quickly draft compelling copy for a variety of mediums

  • Experience with video production and editing (CapCut, Adobe, Canva, or similar tools)

  • Strong creative instincts and a sharp eye for tone, pacing, and storytelling

  • Ability to deeply understand and reflect a candidate’s authentic voice and personality

  • Excitement about building a bold, unique and creative campaign

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Substantial body of work publicly available for reference

  • Preferably possesses experience on large political campaigns in media, communications or digital content creation/management
