Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as a Digital Organizer for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.
Role Overview:
The Digital Organizer is responsible for supporting the campaign's digital organizing and online voter engagement efforts, using digital tools and platforms to recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers alongside the campaign's broader field program. This role requires a creative, online-native approach to building community, driving volunteer action, and translating digital engagement into real-world voter contact. The Digital Organizer should be comfortable working across social media, texting and messaging platforms, and volunteer management tools, with an eye for content that resonates with online audiences and drives action. This is a full-time position based in Detroit or Ann Arbor, MI, although there is flexibility with remote work. This position offers compensation in the form of a monthly salary and healthcare benefits.
Responsibilities:
Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers through digital channels and online organizing tools
Support relational organizing and peer-to-peer texting programs
Create and manage content for organizing-focused social media accounts and volunteer communities
Track and analyze digital organizing metrics to inform strategy and improve performance
Coordinate with the field, digital, and communications teams to align online organizing with the campaign's broader voter contact program
Support online events, trainings, and volunteer mobilization pushes
Monitor online organizing spaces and respond to volunteer questions and engagement in real time
Other campaign needs as required
Qualifications (Required):
A minimum of 2 political cycles of volunteer or paid work experience in campaigns, digital organizing, or online community management required
Proficiency with social media platforms, texting/messaging tools, and volunteer or CRM management software
Basic graphic design skills, working with tools like Canva
Willingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate credibly and respectfully across a wide range of communities
Must have transportation to attend events statewide as needed
Proficiency with Excel and Google Drive
Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail
Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate
Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways
Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability
Qualifications (Preferred):
Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Premiere, or Express.
Experience using VAN and MyCampaigns, Solidarity, or other volunteer management software
Existing relationships or contacts with local community leaders and organizations outside of traditional progressive Democratic circles
