Elissa Silverman, who is running for an at-large seat on the D.C. Council, is looking for a Digital Strategist for the 2026 election cycle. Silverman has a track record from her prior two terms on the Council of getting hard things done, including bringing paid family and medical leave to the District of Columbia.
This is a full-time, paid position based in D.C. An ideal candidate is a team player, who brings great knowledge of social media and video production to the table.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute digital strategy.
Draft and edit social content, video scripts, and rapid-response messaging for a small team
Spot trends as they emerge and move quickly to capitalize on them.
Use data analytics (engagement and insights) daily to measure performance and refine strategy in real time.
Meet and build deep relationships with influencers and creators
Manage video production
Flag sensitivities and political landmines proactively.
Participate in comms calls and coordinate with fundraising on integrated moments.
Oversee the email and text program alongside the candidate
Qualifications
Exceptional writing skills
Experience managing people and building teams from scratch
Experience managing vendors and external partners
Deep fluency in the online progressive ecosystem
Excellent judgment and discretion
