Electica brings the best data and technology to advocacy campaigns across the world. We deliver digital messaging to global and hyper-local audiences on behalf of mission-driven clients, including political campaigns and candidates, advocacy organizations, and institutions. Electica has experienced rapid growth since our founding in early 2020, doubling in size every year. Our clients include the major red-to-blue Congressional races, political parties, prominent unions, and pro-democracy advocacy organizations in more than 40 countries. 

 

We are hiring a ** Business Development Director** who shares our passion for doing good in the world. We’re looking for an experienced, hungry sales leader who can diversify our revenue away from founder-led growth. 

 

In this role, you'll:

  • Increase our market share among US political clients via new revenue;

  • Expand our global presence with advocacy and political clients, 

  • Negotiate impactful long-term contracts with existing and new clients across our brands, and 

  • Communicate our brand propositions effectively to the right target audiences, including Electica (for political clients), ad platform Advocate (for mission-driven organizations), and Shift (for institutional clients). 

 

A competitive candidate will combine a solid network in the US progressive political arena, a flawless track record of revenue growth management, and a keen interest in building an international portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will also be able to execute brand building and marketing campaigns to generate inbound leads.

 

Electica is a globally remote company with staff based throughout Europe and North America - but due to the focus of this position, we are looking for someone available on East Coast hours.

 

Responsibilities

Sales strategy: 

  • Develop impactful sales strategies, leveraging what is working today and changing what is not (particular focus on leveraging AI).

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the US, fitting our Ideal Customer Profile and target contract value. 

  • Secure new contracts of $2M in H2 2025, and $15M in 2026.

  • Elevate the internal sales capabilities of campaign managers and our account team.

 

Client management: 

  • Manage existing strategic client relationships and work to build new ones.

  • Secure re-signed contracts of $10M+ annual value

  • Provide advice on product development and promotion strategies.

 

Marketing:

  • Solidify brand propositions, awareness, and reach.

  • Work with our product team to identify product-market fit for Advocate, our self-serve platform.

  • Ideally create, execute, and optimize a marketing strategy that generates increasing inbound leads.

 

 

Required experience & expertise

  • Solid grounding in US politics / campaigns, along with relevant network

  • Experience in political or governmental tech, ad tech strongly preferred

  • 8+ years building first-class sales funnels

  • Exemplary track record of YoY revenue growth management

  • Delivery of at least $1m incremental sales

  • Experience with leveraging AI for sales processes 

  • Demonstrated experience in international sales

 

Compensation & benefits

  • Base salary $95 - 125k plus revenue-driven incentives, performance bonus, and company profit-share
