OVERVIEW

CGC is looking for a driven, forward-thinking social media expert with a keen interest in influencer and creator strategy. The Director of Digital Strategy will develop a strategy for CGC’s grassroots digital program, and define the most effective ways to identify and engage with issue specific social media influencers/creators. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing a digital strategy that reaches key audiences, and fosters authentic relationships with community voices.

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Director of Digital Strategy reports to the Executive Director and Senior Advisor.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identify individuals, groups and organizations with an existing audience and reach on local issues in Chicago and Illinois. 

  • Capture and edit content for video use. 

  • Designing eye-catching and well-composed content that moves people to action.

  • Tailoring writing to different messengers, audiences, and goals.

  • Collaboration with internal teams - communication, engagement, and consultants.

  • Creating bilingual content in English and Spanish.  

  • Ability to write persuasively, authentically, and concisely.

  • Organizing and analyzing data to drive future strategy.

  • Detail, deadline, and process-oriented. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ cycles of campaign organizing experience

  • 1 cycle managing large-scale advocacy, political or organizing programs is preferred

  • Proven strategic leadership experience — designing, scaling, and optimizing engagement programs.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with external partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Remain open to feedback and learning, adaptable amidst ambiguity, positive, accountable, and believe no task is too big or small.

  • Natural collaborator who is excited and comfortable partnering within and across teams.

  • Willing to work extended hours, late evenings and weekends.

  • Fluent in writing and developing content in Spanish.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The anticipated salary for this position is $100,000. CGC offers a benefits package that includes employee medical and dental insurance.
