Planned Parenthood Action Oregon (PPAO) is recruiting for a Director of Field Organizing to join our team! This is a permanent, full-time, exempt position.
Planned Parenthood Action Oregon is a nonprofit, non-partisan membership organization tax exempt under section 501(c)(4). PPAO engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education. **Backed by millions of activists, donors, and other supporters, **the PPAO is working to promote, protect, expand, and restore access to sexual health care and defend reproductive rights.
**About the Role: **Under the general supervision and direction of the Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Action Oregon, the Director of Field Organizing will build and manage a team of Field Organizers in Oregon. The Director of Field Organizing is responsible for the successful implementation of all grassroots field organizing programs including building and maintaining a robust and diverse volunteer base; engaging and developing volunteer leaders and activists; leading successful voter engagement, education and registration efforts; leading grassroots lobbying efforts; and managing data driven electoral voter contact programs. Ensures that organizing efforts are aligned with the strategic plan and values of PPCW and PPSO.

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in related field preferred, or comparable professional experience.
2 years’ work experience in nonprofit advocacy programs or political campaigns with demonstrated experience of managing and coaching a successful team.
Fluency working with modern campaign tools and techniques
Demonstrated ability to organize volunteers into highly functioning teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced campaign style work environment
Innovative, creative, and data-driven
Expertise with NGP/ VAN platform.
Experience and understanding of racial equity; understanding privilege and experience working alongside communities of color and/or immigrant communities.
Inspires and mobilizes people who are committed to reproductive health and rights, defending and increasing access to family planning services and sexuality education, and ensuring access to safe and legal abortion.
**Total Rewards: **The full wage range for this position is $84,558 to $123,185 annually. New hire wage placement typically does not exceed the midpoint of the wage range. **Location: **This position is hybrid/telework, meaning you will be working both remotely and in-person at a PPAO location and within the community and various settings. All PPAO employees must reside in Oregon or Washington. The onsite work location for this position is Flanagan Regional Service Center in Northeast Portland, OR.
Essential Functions:
Recruits, hires, trains, and manages the team of field organizers in Oregon. Leads the implementation and manages grassroots advocacy, voter identification, voter engagement, grassroots lobbying, and community mobilization programs, community outreach, field work, voter contact, and activist cultivation.
Assists the Chief of External Affairs in the planning and implementation of external and internal programs related to advocacy and community engagement.
Executes strategies as outlined in the statewide strategic plan and statewide campaign plan; assists to develop and ensure successful implementation of the field strategy for issue, election and capacity building programs.
Organizes at the ‘grass tops’ level, building political leads and developing relationships with key coalition partners and stakeholders.
Collaborates with affiliate staff to ensure consistent external communications and alignment of priorities.
