JOB DESCRIPTION

The National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC) is looking for a Director of Marketing who will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated marketing strategy to achieve NDTC's organizational goals. This role involves creating lead funnels, ensuring consistent messaging and branding, growing and cultivating the NDTC learner and social community, and utilizing data for strategic decision-making. Additionally, the Director leads a diverse marketing team, provides support to all departments, collaborates with strategic partners and local Democratic parties, and leverages current events for marketing opportunities.

 

This full-time position will join the Marketing team and will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and implement an integrated marketing strategy that drives NDTC organizational goals.  

  • Lead any rebranding efforts in coordination with internal departments and external consultants

  • Be a key member of the NDTC executive team. 

  • Create effective lead funnels to drive visitors to the NDTC website and convert them to engaged community members. 

  • Develop marketing messaging and ensure consistency of NDTC message and brand across all channels and methods. 

  • Use data to measure success and make strategic changes in marketing efforts. 

  • Develop SEO strategy and how to use it to drive potential trainees to NDTC website.

  • Provide communications support to all departments and their team members. 

  • Work with strategic partners and state and local parties on collaborative marketing efforts. 

  • Understand and keep a pulse on political climate and stories and be able to leverage current events as tie-in opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate Will have:

  • At least seven-years years of experience in marketing, ideally in the tech, NGO, or online learning field. 

  • Two to five years experience leading diverse teams across multiple time zones. 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to improve marketing strategies. 

  • Have experience leading and growing brand identities across an ecosphere.

  • Be an expert in lead generation and conversion.

  • Are an excellent writer, experienced with AP Style.

  • Have experience working across departments or teams within an organization.

  • Have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and on the record, across all channels.

  • Are outcomes focused, well-organized, and have a sense of humor.

  • Work well with deadlines and fast-paced environments.

  • Are able to communicate effectively and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, trainees, staff, and others. 

  • Applicants with experience in Democratic politics are preferred, but not required. You do need to want to make a difference and elect more Democrats.

 

Location

This is a remote position open to candidates located in the United States. NDTC is a fully remote workplace. We have staff all across the country, with large groups centralized in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

NDTC requires all staff to be legally authorized to work in the United States.

 

Shared Responsibilities for All Staff at NDTC

To scale NDTC’s programming, we need all staff to contribute to executing key moments of our training program. Staff are provided advance notice for evening and weekend work commitments. These duties are shared across all staff and may include the following as assigned:

  • Staffing virtual live training events for NDTC which may include some evening or weekend commitments with reasonable notice for scheduling. You will be scheduled for 5-10 events per year.

  • Staffing large training events most often virtually, but may include in-person events in 2024 and beyond. These commitments typically are multi-day trainings over weekends and happen 2-4 times per year. 

  • Participating in a cross organizational committee or working group such as our Equity and Inclusion Committee or other ad hoc working groups.

Compensation + Benefits:

  • Pay: Salary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $115,000 - $125,000 per year
