Maremoto is a set of organizations building a world where Latinos take charge of our lives through unified power in politics, media, and culture. We’re a bold, ambitious home for visionary change—bringing together civic, cultural, and media strategies that move millions, shift narratives, and demand our rightful place in U.S. democracy. Our work is powered by deep community, big ideas, and the conviction that the future is ours to shape.
We’re a new organization, but our roots run deep. Maremoto was born from a team that’s been at the forefront of Latino political strategy, cultural storytelling, and community power-building for years. We’ve spun off into an independent organization to go even bigger—and we’re looking for people who want to build something transformational with us.

Director of Talent Overview:
The Latino community has a plethora of talented individuals with big, audacious ideas to get Latino voters off the sidelines, however, there are little to no resources available to help them execute these ideas. As it stands, Latino serving groups and Latino-led organizations receive just 1% of all philanthropic dollars. A lack of funding for new ideas and programs has been a bottleneck for the innovation we need to bring our movement forward.
Maremoto is seeking a Director of Talent who will lead a program that invests in and accelerates the success of a new generation of Latino leaders actively investing in the wellbeing and engagement of the community broadly, specifically as it relates to increasing collective and political participation in our country. This program will provide these leaders with leadership development skills, grants, and partnership to cultivate their ideas, bring them to implementation, and in turn, increase civic engagement in our community at large.
Direct of Talent Responsibilities:
Strategically plan and implement Maremoto’s Latino Futures Initiative program, collaborating on the development and refinement of the program with oversight from the Chief of Program, Democracy + Talent
Hire and manage a full-time Talent Program Manager, who will work alongside the Director of Talent and the Maremoto team more broadly
Manage the day to day program processes and systems, including but not limited to staff, vendors, consultants and partners
Source and propose, onboard, and interface with participants in the Latino Futures Initiative program, building regular mechanisms to collect and evaluate their feedback, and flexibly adjusting program to meet their needs and maximize their experience
Work with design thought leaders, executive coaches, and training professionals to provide personalized coaching experiences and skill-building workshops for Talent participating in the Latino Futures Initiative program
Manage the project budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and oversee systems to track outgoing expenditures in real time
Director of Talent Qualifications:
5-8 years of programmatic work in the leadership development space, or relevant experience, including 2+ years of management experience.
Previous experience working with high-level principals and their teams.
Proven ability to manage up and laterally in an organization with a variety of on-going programmatic goals.
Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing team members.
Commitment to building independent Latino political power that is anti-racist, progressive, and culturally integrated.
Significant experience successfully leading large projects from development to implementation. Experience working at a startup is strongly preferred, but not required.
Curiosity to find the right people to help drive big ideas, and a solutions-oriented mindset to be able to manage people-based projects to completion.
Outstanding collaboration skills with diverse audience groups, both within and outside the organization.
Demonstrated history of proactive attitude and high degree of self-direction; with a history of positively collaborating with high-level principals.
Deep experience living and working with Latino and/or immigrant communities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience working remotely, and comfort using all digital tools for communication and project execution

Has experience working in leadership development, especially in underrepresented communities.
Has deep experience living and working with Latino and/or immigrant communities.

Nights and weekend work will occasionally be required, but only when program or project schedule requires. Some travel will also be required, with an annual estimate of about 4 weeks of travel per year.
