Florida Youth Action Fund is a youth-led 501(c)(3) organization breaking down barriers to organizing for young people in Florida, and is committed to building a youth movement strong enough to change our rigged system. FYAF’s Distributed Organizing team is looking for a driven Campus Organizer to lead our state-wide student base-building program, starting with a cohort of students (in both college and high school) in a historic voter registration, civic engagement and leadership development competition this Fall.
The Distributed Campus Organizer will play a key role in driving FYAF’s statewide constituency organizing with college and high school students and supporting our distributed strategies on campuses across the state. This role requires a passionate and strategic organizer, who can work well in a team, thrive under pressure, effectively coach volunteer leaders and teams, and execute a distributed campus canvassing and leadership development program.

Key Relationships: Distributed Organizing & YAF Program teams
Location: Hybrid - Central Florida (Tampa Bay / I-4 Corridor region strongly preferred)
Hours: Full-Time Hourly Employee (40 hrs/wk)

This is a termed position running through the 2026 election, and we're building it with the intention of keeping the right person on permanently, and a strong fit here is very likely to extend past the cycle.
Compensation: $22 - $27 / hour
Union: This position is a union-represented role and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Campus Voter Registration Challenge
Own the strategy and execution of YAF’s annual Campus VR Challenge, a month-long campus canvassing and civic engagement cohort.
Co-develop and facilitate training materials for program participants (including legal compliance, organizing/leadership skills, and strategy).
Provide effective coaching and management of participants as they progress through the program that achieves positive outcomes..
Convert first-time action-takers into sustained engagement pathways and membership with YAF.
Constituency Organizing and Student Leader Pipeline
Conduct proactive leadership identification and lead recruitment of HS and College students into YAF’s membership and programmatic funnel.
Lead a targeted campus outreach strategy, building YAF’s membership presence within HS/College campuses in priority regions.
Provide effective coaching and management to volunteer campus leaders and teams organizing with YAF that achieve positive outcomes.
Support YAF’s Ember program and opportunities to bring together students around our public narrative.
Civic Engagement
With support, design and implement field civic engagement tactics targeting student voters such as phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and political education events.
Represent YAF with key campus partners and develop collaborative strategies to engage students.
Team Support
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, briefings, and retreats.
Contribute towards assigned projects as a member of a cross-functional working pod.
Support team-wide and interdepartmental requests as necessary.

Qualifications/Skills:
At least 2 years of proven experience in grassroots organizing and campaign management, with a focus on issue advocacy or political campaigns. Statewide or national experience is strongly preferred.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing a diverse team of organizers and volunteers.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking, campaign messaging, and report writing.
Knowledge of Florida's political landscape and experience working with local and state-wide organizations.
Proficient in utilizing organizing and communication software, including CRM systems, digital organizing tools, and social media platforms.
Comfort with working on the ground and in the field.
Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Experience working with students and youth.
Shared commitment to YAF’s stated values.
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree in political science or comparable field.
Familiarity with the Bonterra/NGP Suite, and Google Suite tools.
