Texas Majority PAC is a research and development institution dedicated to flipping Texas blue by building year-round Democratic infrastructure in the key regions. TMP invests in partners in the key regions of the state who are running voter engagement and turnout programs. We support partners financially and through adding staff capacity in an effort to help voter turnout programs in the urban hubs of our state reach the scale and quality required to win statewide office in Texas.
Summary of Position:
Texas Majority PAC is seeking distributed organizers to join our team. This role will be critical in scaling our partner’s volunteer programs across key state regions. Distributed organizers will be responsible for recruiting and training volunteers across the state to carry out voter contact efforts like canvassing, letter writing, and phone banking. Through these efforts, organizers will help our partners reach and mobilize voters to make an impact in the ’24 general election.
This is a remote organizing position, with the primary responsibility being volunteer recruitment through calling and texting. While the work will include building text campaigns and leading virtual training, the vast majority of the day-to-day work will be spent on the phone making calls to prospective volunteers across the state to convince them to get to work to turn Texas blue. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, the ability to stay on task while working independently, can push through the monotony of repetitive tasks that are critical for the mission, and a deep commitment to turning Texas Blue.
Responsibilities:
Spend the majority of your day on the phone hard asking volunteers to attend voter contact events across the state
Debrief the volunteer experience with people who attended volunteer events, and reshift them into future opportunities
Plan and facilitate virtual training to onboard volunteers for voter contact work
Assist with building recruitment campaigns using tools like Spoke and auto-dialers for texting and calling
Develop training materials, scripts, and guides to support volunteer programs
Qualifications:
No prior experience with organizing required; no college degree required
Excellent communication skills over the phone/virtual calls and a fearlessness asking people to do hard work
Proficient with technology and an eagerness to learn about new tools
Ability to manage work while working remote and independently, especially when tasks are repetitive or monotonous
Willing to work evenings/weekends as voter outreach demands
Preferred, but not required:
Fluent in Spanish
