The MN Senate DFL is hiring field staff to protect the DFL majority ahead of the SD-45 special election. This special election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and will determine which party holds the majority in the Minnesota Senate. District Field Organizers will be responsible for organizing efforts in a targeted Senate District supporting the endorsed DFL Senate candidate and DFLers up and down the ballot, including:
Implementing the Caucus’s Field plan;
Building strong, collaborative relationships with local DFL officers, activists, partners, and constituency leaders;
Representing the DFL by attending and planning local events, like house parties;
Recruiting, managing, and training grassroots volunteer teams to engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention;
Registering new voters in key constituencies;
And other tasks as assigned by the Minnesota DFL.
The ideal candidate for this role is outgoing, self-motivated, willing to try new things, and passionate about DFL values. They are an excellent verbal communicator who is excited to think outside the box, with a track record of working with people or organizing their personal networks. Prior campaign experience is not required. This positions has the potential for extension past the SD-45 special election.
