What's cool about this job?  

The Electoral Organizer will be the on-the-ground organizer to help peaks, organize supporters, win state legislative fights, and build power for PPVSAT and the reproductive freedom movement. You will work closely with the SC organizing team and within PPVSAT's existing infrastructure to develop and execute campaign plans in your assigned targeted districts.

  • Passionate activist/volunteer for reproductive freedom

  • Fiercely  pro-abortion

  • Experienced with electoral campaigns; previous VAN and issue organizing experience preferred

  • Talented interpersonal communicator, capable of engaging and developing relationships with volunteers, coalition partners, and community leaders

  • Outgoing leader, skilled in working through a lens a racial equity

  • Adaptable & capable of quickly shifting gears

What You'll Do

  • Serve on the front lines of a targeted election program contacting Planned Parenthood Votes South Atlantic (PPVSAT) members of South Carolina to recruit a base of electoral volunteers

  • Contact supporters to educate them on critical issues and engage them in PPVSAT's volunteer opportunities this election season

  • Contact likely members through community tabling/crowd canvassing to recruit them as new members of PPVSAT and engage them in upcoming electoral efforts

  • Organize PPVSAT membership events that educate supporters on candidate stances related to the critical issues at stake in the 2024 election

  • Recruit, sign in, and re-shift PPVSAT canvassers and phone bankers

  • Collect data from supporters with timely and accurate data entry of engagement activities in VAN

  • Adhere to affiliate policies and procedures including meetings and training requirements, ensuring punctuality and attendance, and following personnel policies

  • Adhere to all applicable election laws and maintain accurate and timely records of electoral activity

Schedule:

Temporary position running through November 30th, 2024

Full Time 40hr/wk

Hybrid; remote & on-site

Requires frequent l night & weekend work for projects and events

Travel up to 30% in your assigned area (Lowcountry South Carolina)

 

Compensation:

PPSAT's compensation philosophy is based on equity and transparency. Each job at PPSAT is assigned a pay grade built on market data. For an individual coming into PPSAT, we set a pay generally between the minimum and the midpoint of the pay grade. Starting offers are determined by the candidate's relevant experience and internal equity within the pay grade. The hiring range for this position is $25.60 to $29.95 per hour.
