NRDC Action Fund Electoral Program Manager
The NRDC Action Fund, an affiliated, but separate organization from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) seeks a cycle, term-limited ** Electoral Program Manager** to join the organization through the remainder of the 2026 calendar year to help manage the Action Fund’s coordinated electoral activities.
The NRDC Action Fund (the Action Fund) is a 501(c)4 organization with the goal of building political support for advancing NRDC’s goals: averting dangerous climate change, supporting healthy people and thriving communities, and conserving and protecting nature and wildlife. We mobilize the American public to lobby lawmakers, support candidates who stand up for these goals, and hold them accountable for their votes, both in office and at the ballot box.
The ** Electoral Program Manager** is a mid-level political professional with extensive campaign experience, ideally having worked for both candidates and elected officials. At the direction of the Managing Director, the Electoral Program Manager will oversee a set of coordinated campaign activities
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee a set of specific coordinated side campaign activities, seeing the projects through from start to finish, including helping to select vendors, managing vendor contracts, and working internally to ensure project success. These may include: voter contact, polling & communications, research, candidate fundraising, and more.
· Lead NRDC Action Fund’s organizing efforts, including working with selected vendors and directly with endorsed candidates’ campaign staff to ensure coordination in face-to-face voter contact and more;
· Represent NRDC Action Fund at organizing coordination tables;
· Coordinate internally, specifically with digital organizing, to ensure organizing efforts are synched across different voter engagement tactics and are mutually reinforcing;
· Organize/support specific PAC and fundraising events benefiting both candidates and current members;
· Represent the Action Fund at events, such as endorsement press conferences, GiveGreen fundraisers, activist calls, hill events, and more.
Key Qualifications:
· 3-5 cycles of campaign experience, across field, finance, political or communications. We will consider candidates with diverse campaign backgrounds.
· Experience as an organizing or field director. Campaign management experience preferred.
· Fundraising experience preferred.
· Proficiency in VAN, Google Docs, and MobilizeAmerica.
· Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.
· Extensive experience working on competitive elections.
