**Title: **Energy Builders Organizing Director
Salary: $80,000 and negotiable based on experience

**Manages: **Energy Builder state organizers (currently 3, may expand to 4); Project consultants and advisors
Job Classification: Full Time, Exempt
The Energy Builders Organizing Director is responsible for leading the Energy Builders program. This role dives deep into siting processes and works closely with our state partners to manage state organizers and ensure that everyone has the resources (whether they are training, fiscal, or material) to achieve our goals. The Energy Builders Organizing Director is also responsible for coordinating the consultants and advisors who work with the Energy Builders program. At its core, this role is responsible for developing a culture and the structures that set the team up for success and holding organizational expertise about utility-scale clean energy development.
Managing and Mentoring State Energy Builder Directors (60%)
Oversee organizers’ semiannual updating of state project plans that include strategic goals and metrics, ensuring they align with the Energy Builders’ program priorities
Conduct weekly check-ins with organizers Bold is funding to ensure they are on track to hit their strategic goals and metrics, having open conversations about when things fall short
Ensure best practices are shared and integrated amongst state organizers, building a culture of learning
Share important news and updates, keeping consistent lines of communication open
Position Bold and Energy Builders as Thought Leaders (30%)
Hold and continuously develop expertise regarding fair utility-scale clean energy development in rural communities
Promote a rural-centric framework and CBAs for clean energy projects
Serve as Energy Builders ambassador with other institutions including state and national tables – attending relevant meetings, conferences, etc.
Strengthen and grow our alliances with advocacy groups, unions, Tribal nations, think tanks, and clean energy developers
Produce materials about the benefits of utility scale solar and wind and distribute those materials via our partners, media, and like minded organizations
Coordinating Project Consultants (10%)
Ensure that the group of consultants who work on the Energy Builders project are delivering on the terms of our contracts with them
Oversee consultant contracts and ensure terms are being met
Coordinate between State Energy Builders Directors and consultants regarding the needs of consulting support
Responsibilities also include minor administrative tasks such as attending All Staff meetings and filing expense reports.
All of the skills below are important in this role. You should have at least 75% of them.
Knowledge on the ins and outs of utility-scale solar and wind construction and economics
Experience with Community Benefit Agreements and/or Dividends
At least 5 years of experience organizing rural people from diverse perspectives and backgrounds
Strong verbal and written communication skills – can convey information clearly and effectively to teammates and external stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills – Can identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues; not only can address problems as they arise but also looks ahead to prevent future problems
Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with others towards common goals
Highly adaptable – not just accepting of change, but scans the horizon and adjusts to new challenges and situations
Can deliver feedback in timely, objective manner to teammates to aid in their growth

**Location: **Nebraska
**Travel: **This role requires, at minimum, quarterly travel to states with Energy Builder programs as well as an annual staff retreat
