Job Summary:
The Executive Assistant will support DAGA's President and Executive Director by handling travel and scheduling, coordinating tasks between the Executive team and other staff members or outside parties, and covering the administrative tasks of both officers, among other things. The ideal individual will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, have administrative experience, and be detail-oriented. The Executive Assistant must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. This position will require work outside of traditional office hours.
Compensation Package:
$60,000 - $65,000 salary

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support services to the President and Executive Director that ensures outstanding communication and responsiveness to internal and external parties
Handle a high volume of requests for meetings, appointments, and general scheduling needs
Manage travel logistics for the President and Executive Director
Ensure that detailed briefings, research, and background documents for meetings, events, and trips are provided by departments and senior staff members in a timely fashion
Collect materials on issues of interest to the President and Executive Director
Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and memos
Develop presentations in whole or assemble in part from elements provided by other DAGA staff
Compile and process expense reports and reimbursements
Track projects by departments and assignments from Executive Team to Department Directors or Senior Staff members
Oversee special projects and other administrative work as required
Qualifications:
At least 2 years related work experience
Familiarity with campaigns or progressive organizations
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, be a team-player, be flexible, adapt to shifting priorities, and balance shifting priorities
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent organizational skills, commitment to accuracy, and attention to detail
Good judgment and ability to function independently
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage up in support of two principals
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion and diplomacy

The President is based in the Eastern Time Zone and the Executive Director is based in the Pacific Time Zone.
DAGA's office is open 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern, but extended and nontraditional work hours are required - especially for this role.
This position is located in the DAGA offices which are in downtown Washington DC.
