The Executive Director (ED) oversees the day-to-day operations of DPDC and is responsible for executing the organization’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Chair, the ED works closely with key stakeholders to advance DPDC’s mission, achieve its goals, and ensure its long-term sustainability. The ED helps develop the annual budget and strategic plan, takes the lead on planning and managing major events, such as the annual Gala, and coordinates the organization’s activities for all aspects of the election cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Development

  • Plan and execute DPDC’s events, ranging from the annual Gala to smaller ad hoc gatherings at the office

  • Innovate strategies to engage members, volunteers, and supporters in the organization's efforts

  • Guide committee efforts and focus their efforts towards organizational priorities and tangible results

  • Operations

  • Oversee the organization’s regular cashflow, contracts, records and accounts

  • Manage and oversee the office, its regular volunteers and their training, and the use of the space by committees, allied organizations and campaigns

  • Communications

  • Work closely with the Chair, DPDC committees, the Executive Committee, township and allied organizations, candidates, elected officials, precinct committeepeople (PCs), and volunteers

  • Manage communications for the organization, including the email list, social media, the website, and press releases

  • Update the Executive Committee

  • Organizing

  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor key volunteers, fostering a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing environment

  • Use and maintain structured data to support the organization’s goals, including voter targeting and supporter data

  • Oversee appropriate access and training of users in Votebuilder and other services and tools

Qualifications (You will be good fit if):

  • You have at least two election cycles or 1–2 years of organizing or outreach experience—whether on political campaigns, in digital communications, or in a customer service or engagement role

  • You are deeply committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot and energized by work that helps increase voter turnout

  • You are a strong communicator, with experience writing emails, social posts, or other outreach that connects with diverse audiences

  • Strong decision-making and prioritization skills—you can juggle tasks without letting anything fall through the cracks

  • You are comfortable using customer relationship databases, email platforms, spreadsheets and Google Drive

  • You are an empathetic and efficient communicator who can field supporter inquiries with kindness, clarity, and confidence

  • You are curious and resourceful, whether that means researching election procedures, tracking down data, or exploring new tactics

  • You are skilled at working independently and managing your own workflow, while staying in close coordination with your team

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
