State Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet is seeking Field Organizers for her campaign for Congress in MI-08 (Genesee, Bay, Saginaw, and Midland Counties) to help activate our coalition of volunteers and win the support of voters across the district. A strong candidate for this role has a high energy level, passion for building people power, and drive for achieving goals. Ideal start date in early/mid-June. Salary ranges from $4,000 - $4,500 per month.
Responsibilities
● Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to advance voter outreach goals
● Management of any assigned intern or other field staff
● Work with the Organizing Director to manage goals and health of our volunteer coalition from start date to the November 5th, 2024 General Election
● Coordinating with local Democratic Party infrastructure, stakeholders, and other coordinated campaigns
● Executing assigned canvassing, phonebanking, textbanking, community presence, and absentee ballot chase efforts
● Training volunteers on how to use MiniVAN, textbank programming, and phonebank programming, as well as Training volunteers on best practices when engaging with voters, and educating volunteers on what our coalition stands for
● Recording and reporting data on a daily/weekly basis
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
● Desire to build people around accomplishing big tasks, as well as a can-do attitude
● Ability to see the different strengths and values of each coalition member and direct those strengths to where they are best exemplified
● Strong communication written and verbal skills
● Organization and attention to detail
● Willingness to learn and adapt to new needs and priorities at anytime
● Demonstrated ability to train and lead others while maintaining a positive attitude
● Ability to live within the MI-08 Congressional District
● Some level of experience with volunteering or working on previous campaigns preferred
● Knowledge of Votebuilder, MiniVAN, and Mobilize preferred
● Basic knowledge of Google Suite of applications
● Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence - the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
● Access to a car, driver’s license, phone, and laptop
● Must be 18 years of age or older
