About the Campaign

Protect Alaska’s Elections is building a disciplined, people-powered operation to defend the state’s campaign finance, open primaries, and ranked-choice voting system from repeal. Our organizing program is focused on deep community engagement, strong volunteer leadership, and a data-driven approach to voter contact. We’re looking for a motivated, community-oriented Field Organizer to lead efforts on the ground.

 

Position Overview

The Fairbanks Field Organizer will be responsible for executing the campaign’s field program in the Fairbanks area. This includes recruiting and managing volunteers, coordinating voter contact efforts, and building relationships within the community. This role is people-focused, and essential to our success.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers

  • Plan and execute voter contact programs 

  • Build and maintain relationships with local community leaders and organizations

  • Track and report field metrics and progress toward goals

  • Support event planning and staffing for campaign events

  • Keep track of attend community events 

  • Ensure accurate data entry and use of campaign tools (e.g., VAN)

  • Represent the campaign professionally in the community

 

Qualifications

  • No political campaign experience required. We are willing to train the right person. ** This is a great role for someone looking to pivot into the political space. **

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter with a high level of accountability

  • Comfortable working some evenings and weekends (as needed)

  • Passion for public service, politics, or community organizing

  • Familiarity with Fairbanks/Interior Alaska is desired

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience, ~$5,000-$6,000/month for full-time 

  • Travel reimbursement (as applicable)
