The Maryland Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Faith Community Organizer to oversee our community efforts.
As a Faith Community Organizer, you will be responsible for managing our faith community outreach. You will lead the implementation of a variety of tactics to build volunteer capacity, plan and host faith-based events, meet with clergy/faith stakeholders, and report back on feedback from these communities. You will work with the Community Organizing Program Manager and the Community Organizing Director to execute a cohesive outreach program.
This position is based in Largo, Maryland, and reports directly to the Community Organizing Program Manager. This position will require travel across the state.
Responsibilities:
Turn out faith community stakeholders/communities for Angela Alsobrooks and Democrats up and down the ballot through traditional voter contact and relational organizing tools;
Build and host events with several community leaders;
Identify and develop volunteer leadership to organize within their own community;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least one cycle of successful organizing, political, and/or faith coalition building experience preferred;
Strong commitment to Democratic values and enthusiasm for electing Angela Alsobrooks and Democrats up and down the ballot;
Strong ties to faith communities in Maryland is preferred

You are a relationship builder – you make friends everywhere you go and are ready to build successful meaningful relationships with your team and relationships in the communities you are organizing;

**Employment Type: **Full-time
Compensation: $16 per hour. The Faith Community Organizer works at least 55 hours per week and will receive overtime pay above 40 hours per week with access to full benefits including health, dental, and vision. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and will require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle. This position is at-will employment.
