JOB DESCRIPTION

Shamsul Haque’s campaign is seeking ** motivated, community-driven canvassers** to engage voters across District 30. This role is critical in building relationships, increasing voter turnout, and ensuring the voices of Latino families are heard in this election.

 

You will be on the front lines— knocking doors, having real conversations, and mobilizing your community to vote.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Voter Outreach

Knock on doors in targeted neighborhoods

Speak directly with voters about the campaign

Share key messages and answer basic questions

 

Bilingual Communication

Engage voters in ** Spanish/English**

Help translate campaign messaging for Spanish-speaking and Chinese-speaking residents

 

Data Collection

Record voter responses using campaign tools (app or paper)

Identify supporters, undecided voters, and key concerns

 

Community Engagement

Build trust with local residents and families

Identify community leaders and influencers

Help recruit volunteers from within the Latino community

 

Event Support

Assist with:

Community events

Visibility actions

Voter registration drives

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Fluent in ** Spanish and English (required)**

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Comfortable speaking with new people

Familiarity with Queens communities is a MUST.

Prior campaign or canvassing experience is a plus (not required)

Comfortable walking and working outdoors for extended periods

EXPECTED OUTPUT

Knock ** 75–100 doors per shift**
