JOB DESCRIPTION

Councilman Izzy Patoka’s campaign in Baltimore County is hiring a Field Director to lead the campaign’s ground operation. The Field Director will design and implement the campaign’s field plan for the 2026 campaign cycle, will oversee all volunteer and voter contact activities for the candidate, and will be the primary point of contact on all things related to organizing during the 2026 election cycle. The Field Director reports directly to the Campaign Manager.

 

The following job responsibilities are designed to provide an overview of the major duties and responsibilities of this position, but are not exhaustive. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Field Strategy: Work with the Campaign Manager to create and oversee a comprehensive field plan for the candidate, including voter contact, GOTV (Get Out the Vote), grassroots organizing, and political outreach;

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and manage field organizers specializing in digital organizing and traditional field volunteer activities. Provide daily oversight, coaching, and training to ensure they meet voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals;

  • Volunteer Management: Develop volunteer leaders, manage volunteer recruitment, and ensure the team has sufficient volunteers to meet field goals. Organize and manage phone banks, canvass launches, and volunteer training sessions;

  • Event Planning: Work with the Campaign manager to help plan and execute campaign-related events such as town halls, community outreach, and fundraising events to help the candidates connect with voters;

  • Political Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with political organizations, community groups, and local leaders to build support for both candidates. Ensure communication and collaboration with allied groups;

  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on voter contact goals, field efforts, and data management to ensure the campaign stays on track;

  • Staff Management: Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring staff maintain productivity in a demanding and tiring environment.
