Salary: $3,500 - $5,500/month, commensurate with experience

Tim Peck for Congress is seeking an experienced Field Director to lead a growing team of staff and volunteers to victory in 2026!
Dr. Tim Peck is running for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District, located in Southeastern Indiana, with population centers in Bloomington, Indiana, Metro Cincinnati, Ohio, and Metro Louisville, Kentucky. The campaign is focused on the needs, values, and voices of rural communities in an area often ignored by Democrats and Republicans alike.
Position Summary:
The Field Director is responsible for developing and executing the campaign’s voter contact strategy to ensure success in the primary and general elections in 2026. The ideal candidate should be:
An adept manager of people and processes who can effectively coordinate, communicate, and implement campaign and field strategy;
A skilled organizer who can build a grassroots operation, mobilize volunteers and communities, and ensure all aspects of the campaign reflect a bottom-up, movement-driven approach; and
An organized leader of campaign operations, infrastructure, and vendor relationships who can ensure logistical and operational efficiency across a broad geographic area.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience as paid field/organizing staff on a Congressional or state-wide race.
Strong project management and team leadership skills.
Deep understanding of field organizing, volunteer mobilization, and base-building.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Cultural fluency and respect for rural communities and working-class voters.
Proficiency with organizing principles, digital tools, and voter data (NGP VAN, Reach, Mobilize, ActBlue, etc.), and the ability to teach others to reach competency.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
The Field Director is required to reside in Indiana’s 9th Congressional District or in Metro Louisville, Kentucky. Supporter housing (apartment) is available upon request.
Preferred Experience:
Ties to the district or lived experience in rural communities.
Prior leadership experience on a political campaign.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Management & Culture:
Manage staff, interns, and volunteers with care, clarity, and an eye towards growth.
Hire and supervise organizing staff, fellows, and interns.
Foster a collaborative team culture that reflects integrity, humility, and deep respect for the community.
Support staff and volunteers with coaching, feedback, and development.
Conduct weekly check-ins with key volunteers.
Utilize technology to organize Team Peck across a geographically large district.
Grassroots Organizing:
Recruit, train, and manage a network of community-based volunteer leaders.
Build and scale a rural field program using canvassing, phone/text banks, relational organizing, and local events.
Build coalitions with local leaders, farmers, unions, parent groups, small business owners, and community organizers and organizations.
Ensure the campaign meets ambitious goals for direct voter contact.
Track progress to goals and adjust plans based on data, feedback, and field conditions.
Design and implement a district-wide GOTV plan to maximize voter turnout
Communications & Digital Strategy:
Partner with communications staff to amplify a compelling, values-based message.
Ensure digital organizing tools and content (texts, social media, live streams) support field goals and bridge geographic gaps.
Help shape storytelling that centers around our communities and amplifies local voices.
