JOB DESCRIPTION

Dionne Foster’s campaign for Seattle City Council at-large Position #9 seeks a passionate Field Director to help build and execute a robust volunteer outreach program to engage voters, gather Democracy Vouchers, and help secure victory on Election Day. Dionne is a policy expert, community leader, trained social worker, and mom who has been dedicated to making our communities healthier, more sustainable, and more equitable. She is running for City Council to build on this record to refocus the Council on addressing our shared priorities and urgent needs facing Seattle. This role reports directly to the Campaign Manager and Candidate.

 

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, but to ensure consideration please apply by April 4th with a preferred start date part-time in mid-April.

 

Compensation: This position will start half-time at $2,000 per month with the possibility of transitioning to full time at $4,000 per month. Health care stipend provided. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Organize and lead the campaign’s Democracy Voucher collection efforts to activate volunteers to gather vouchers at community events and through doorknocking.

  • Implement the campaign Field Plan by activating, training, and empowering volunteers to persuade and turnout voters, including through doorknocking, phonebanking, and textbanking.

  • Attend visibility events to educate voters about the election, gather vouchers,  and excite potential volunteers to join the campaign.

  • Follow the campaign’s system to track field efforts and voter data using VAN/Votebuilder.

  • Assist with designing and drafting content for social media and provide messaging feedback from canvassing outcomes.

  • Develop strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key activists to build power in the community. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Prior experience executing a grassroots campaign field plan which includes events, relational and digital organizing, and managing field data through Votebuilder/VAN, NGP, and Google Workspaces.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with community stakeholders, interns, and volunteers.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Solid time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Alignment with Dionne’s vision for a more equitable Seattle for all!
