The Maine Gun Safety Coalition, a 501.c.4 nonprofit organization, is a leading and trusted voice
in Maine advocating for evidence-based, common sense gun safety legislation, at the state and
federal levels. We advocate for responsible gun ownership and operate under the belief that gun
ownership and gun responsibility go hand in hand, and are not at odds with each other. Our
expertise, credibility, working relationships, and history of success make us a trusted partner in
these efforts.
Our Coalition includes dozens of organizations and hundreds of volunteers from across the
state who have marched, rallied, written letters, made phone calls, and collected signatures to
advocate for gun safety in Maine. We have the capacity to turn people power into real change.
We are seeking a Field Director to engage these volunteers in voter outreach to support gun
safety champion candidates as part of a statewide independent expenditure campaign.

● Engage existing MGSC volunteers and recruit new ones to perform voter outreach via
phone-banking, texting, canvassing, tabling, and writing letters to the editor
● Help lead trainings for volunteers
● Track volunteer outreach metrics and provide timely reports to MGSC staff
● Ensure outreach is tracked within EveryAction and VAN
● Work with coalition organizations to help them reach out to their membership to spread
the word by calls, emails and texts to get volunteers
● Keep coalition organizations and volunteers updated on the campaign
