Job Title: Field Director 

Reports To: Campaign Manager

Compensation/Hours: $4000/month

Location: District 51/Palatine, IL

Duration: June 2024 - November 15 2024 

 

Job Overview: 

 

The Field Director is responsible for the implementation and management of the field strategy as set by the Candidate, Campaign Manager, and Field Director. The Field Director is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the Field Representatives, ensuring that everyone has walking lists in a timely manner that are advancing the field strategy. 

 

Field Strategy: Assist in creating the field strategy for the Nabeela Syed for District 51 campaign in the 2024 general election including canvassing strategy, phone banking, meet and greets, peer-to-peer texting banks, etc. 

 

Volunteers/Paid Field Representatives: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banks and canvassing, coordinate a paid canvassing program.

 

Large Scale Field Events: Organize and recruit volunteers for coordinated field events. 

 

Data-Entry: Monitor metrics and submit daily reports

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in NPG-VAN

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and effectively manage a diverse team of canvassers.

  • Demonstrated experience in a Field Director role, with at least one campaign cycle of paid political, field experience 

  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities, and maintaining a strong commitment to advancing racial, economic, and social justice.

  • Develop and implement field plans to promote efficiency and sustainability initiatives in the district.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of canvassers to conduct outreach and educate residents about the candidate.

  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to canvassers, ensuring they meet performance targets and adhere to campaign protocols.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including local government agencies, organizations, unions  and community groups, to maximize outreach and engagement efforts.

  • Utilize data and analytics to track the performance of canvassers, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize outcomes.

  • Provide regular reports and updates to the campaign leadership team on field activities, outcomes, and challenges.

  • Ability to work some long or irregular hours.
