FIELD DIRECTOR
Adam Dunigan is a former Marine and ex-CIA officer running in the Democratic Primary in Virginia's 8th Congressional District. Adam for Congress seeks an experienced, full-time ** Field Director** who combines effective leadership with innovative, data-informed field strategy to elevate grassroots organizing in Northern Virginia. You will supervise field staff, design and execute a robust direct voter contact program across the district, and ensure field operations align with campaign messaging and goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field strategy and leadership: design and execute the campaign’s field plan; set targets for canvassing, phone banking, events, and volunteer recruitment; monitor progress and adjust tactics; integrate with the overall campaign strategy.
People management and development: recruit, train, supervise field staff; establish performance metrics and coaching plans; maintain high morale and ethical conduct.
Data-driven outreach and analytics: oversee field data entry, validation, and reporting; ensure data hygiene in VAN/NGP; translate data into actionable tactics and leadership updates.
Coordinated engagement and messaging: align field activities with communications; manage event staffing, cadence, and messaging to ensure consistency with campaign content.
Operations, logistics, and risk management: oversee canvassing logistics and on-the-ground event support; contingency planning; vendor relations; escalate risks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 cycles in campaign field operations or equivalent leadership roles; prior experience as a Field Director or senior field manager preferred.
Proven track record of scaling field programs and managing large volunteer networks; strong leadership and training abilities.
Knowledge of donor and field data platforms (e.g., VAN, VoteBuilder, NGP) and Google Workspace; ability to translate data into actionable field tactics.
Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and high integrity with confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and manage cross-functional teams.
Availability for evenings/weekends; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Familiarity with NOVA political landscape and grassroots organizing best practices.
Compensation: $8,000/month with negotiable benefits.
Start date: February 16, 2026
Location: Northern Virginia preferred; on-site field operations and events; some travel within NOVA.
Reporting structure: The Field Director reports directly to the Campaign Manager; manages the field team.
