About the Race
HD-10 will be one of the most competitive Alabama State Legislative races in 2026. In 2024, Marilyn Lands flipped the seat in a special election - proving just how competitive this district is. Marilyn is a long-time community leader who has lived in HD-10 for over 30 years. As a State Representative, she has led the way on improving our quality of life, protecting our rights and freedoms, and making it easier for Alabama families to not just get by, but to get ahead.
What you will do:
The Field Director will lead all voter contact and volunteer organizing efforts for the campaign. This person will be responsible for executing a comprehensive field program focused on voter persuasion, volunteer recruitment, and Get Out The Vote.
The Field Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager and work closely with campaign leadership to meet voter contact goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the campaign's field plan from persuasion through GOTV.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and field interns.
Organize canvassing, phone banking, postcard writing events, and community outreach.
Build relationships with local Democratic organizations and community groups.
Create and manage weekly voter contact goals and volunteer recruitment targets.
Work evenings and weekends as campaign needs require.
Assist with campaign events and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least one cycle of previous campaign, organizing, advocacy, or community organizing experience.
Experience managing volunteers or organizing teams.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing paid canvassers or field organizers.
Experience developing field plans and voter contact universes.
High proficiency with VAN/VoteBuilder.
Job Details
The salary for this position is between $3000-$3500 per month, commensurate with experience.
The position is based in Huntsville, AL, with an opportunity for supporter housing.
