NYC Council Member Shahana Hanif is seeking a full-time Field Director to develop and lead a dynamic, data-driven field program for her 2025 City Council campaign in Brooklyn’s 39th District. This position offers the opportunity to play a central role in developing a winning strategy for an impactful grassroots campaign. The ideal candidate will have experience running field operations, familiarity with New York City politics, and a deep understanding of the issues that matter to local communities. Experience in Brooklyn’s 39th District is a plus. Candidates should be prepared to start full-time in January 2025, with the role continuing through the primary in late June and the possibility of extending through November 2025.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive voter contact strategy in collaboration with the Campaign Manager and consultants.
Lead voter identification, petitioning, and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and interns.
Cut turf in VAN to support effective outreach.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in VAN. including the ability to cut complex universes and manage data effectively.
At least one full cycle of experience as a Field Organizer, Regional Field Director, or Field Director.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous campaign experience in New York City.
Proficiency in Reach, Spoke Text/ThruText, and ThruTalk/CallHub.
Fluency in Bangla or Spanish is a plus.
Location: Hybrid — remote and in-person in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn’s 39th District.
