JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Description: Field organizers will be responsible for recruiting and managing teams of volunteers for canvassing, phonebanking, visibility, and other campaign events. They will be the most direct point of communication for supporters to get involved in the campaign. 

 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking and canvassing events.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local elected officials, volunteers, and partner organizations.

  • Plan, schedule, and lead in-person and virtual trainings for volunteers and interns on campaign messaging, canvassing best practices, and use of campaign tools.

  • Represent the campaign at community meetings, local events, and coalition gatherings to build relationships and expand the volunteer base.

  • Lead visibility events at high traffic locations like subway stops and busy street corners.

  • Communicate regularly with the Field Director to report daily results and troubleshoot challenges. 

 

Qualifications:

  • At least one cycle of campaign experience preferred (organizing, volunteering, or internships). 

  • Ability to work from the Flushing, Queens campaign office and maintain flexible working hours. Must have transportation to events as required.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus, particularly Mandarin, Korean, or Spanish. 

  • Commitment to re-electing U.S. Representative Grace Meng. 

  • Strong organizational skills and a talent for multitasking.

Salary Range: $4,000 - $5,000 a month, commensurate with experience.
