JOB DESCRIPTION

Field Organizers will be the backbone of our campaign’s grassroots program. Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers; running canvassing, phone banks, and community events; and facilitating voter engagement across their region. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment and excels in time management.

We are specifically looking for an organizer to preside over Region 4 in CO-CD4. (All counties other than Douglas, Larimer, Weld.)

Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment & Management

  • Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to build a strong, sustainable organizing program.

  • Escalate and train volunteer leaders to build and manage their own volunteers and neighborhood teams.

  • Run volunteer events for your region and motivate volunteer teams to meet daily and weekly direct voter contact goals.

Voter Contact

  • Facilitate direct voter contact efforts through canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and other organizing tools.

  • Manage staging locations and volunteer leaders in assigned turf.

  • Track voter contact metrics and ensure all data is accurately entered into VAN.

Community Engagement & Events

  • Represent the campaign at community gatherings, Democratic Party events, and local meetings in your region.

  • Build and staff house parties, canvass launches, and volunteer recruitment events.

  • Manage campaign follow-up and outreach for voters and volunteers who have engaged with the campaign.

  • Build relationships with local leaders, organizations, and activists to strengthen the campaign’s reach.

Goals & Reporting

  • Manage your time strategically to meet and exceed all short and long-term recruitment and direct voter contact goals assigned by the Field Director.

  • Consistently report metrics and progress towards goals, and maintain the field team's data/VAN and reporting standards

  • Collaborate with other departments to accomplish outreach goals and amplify local organizing efforts.

  • Report progress, challenges, and successes by maintaining consistent communication with the Field Director and the overall organizing team.

Qualifications

  • 0–2+ years of experience with community organizing or issue advocacy on political campaigns or with nonprofits (field experience strongly preferred, but not required. Candidates with experience working in people-facing fast-paced environments are also welcome to apply).

  • Must be willing to relocate or make the daily commute to the district.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships quickly.

  • Willingness to engage with voters directly by knocking doors, making calls, and leading by example.

  • Comfort with technology, including VAN/Votebuilder, Minivan, Mobilize,  Google Suite, and basic data entry, preferred.

  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours, evenings, and weekends, with hours adjusting on a ramping scale closer to the election.

  • A passion for electing Democrats and defeating extremists like Lauren Boebert.

  • Ties to Colorado or the 4th Congressional District, or Colorado are a plus.
