JoAnna “Jo” Mendoza is running for Congress against one of the most vulnerable incumbents in the country. This district is a red to blue opportunity, it has a unique demographic composition, and represents one of the largest metro areas in Arizona, while also encompassing suburban and rural areas.
JoAnna is a single mom, Latina, and Marine Corps veteran of 20 years. She is a longstanding member of the community with deep roots throughout the district. Jo is running to restore servant leadership in Congress, fight to lower prices, and bring a voice for working families for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District! Role Summary:
The Field Organizers are core members of the campaign’s grassroots operation, responsible for executing day-to-day voter contact and volunteer organizing across Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. These roles are designed to build, mobilize, and sustain a district-wide field program through phone banks, postcards, canvassing, and county/LD-level coordination.
Responsibilities Include:
Conducting direct voter contact to register new voters, identify supporters, persuade voters, and turnout out supporters in the general election.
Recruiting, training, coordinating volunteers for campaign events across their assigned region. Utilizing all available methods.
Working with LD chairs, local candidates/campaigns, and other local stakeholders on canvassing events, phone banks, rallies, and other visibility events created for their localities.
Daily duties include, volunteer recruitment, volunteer management, relationship building, and database management.
Executing daily field events and canvasses reaching voters to gather support ahead of the November election
Supporting Field Director, Campaign Manager, and Candidate with additional projects as assigned.
Regularly working non-traditional hours; Evenings and weekends. To facilitate the daily phone banks at 4:00pm throughout the week with additional times during the afternoon on weekends and to attend events and canvasses as scheduled
Qualifications:
Strong commitment to electing Democrats.
0-2 cycles of voter contact or campaign experience
Exemplary time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to problem solve in difficult situations.
Experience with VoteBuilder (VAN), Mobilize, Dialers, and Peer to Peer texting are a plus.
Proficiency with Google Suite and familiarity with campaign tools (NGP/VAN or similar systems) a plus.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel across the state.
Spanish fluency or additional language skills are a plus.
Experience in political campaigns, advocacy, or community organizing (internships or campus organizing experience welcome) preferred.
This job is based in Southern Arizona and applicants need to be willing to relocate to their assigned region. We will work with our selected applicant to arrange a timeline that is appropriate for start date and potential relocations.
