Job Description: Field Organizer
Keith Powers for Manhattan Borough President is looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to work as Field Organizers across the Borough of Manhattan. This position is in-person, based in Manhattan and will conclude after the June Primary.
Responsibilities include:
Implementing all aspects of the voter contact program in assigned areas including but not limited to canvassing, phonebanking, visibility, relational organizing and more.
Train, recruit, and manage a team of volunteers and fellows, including swift follow ups and communication with current and new volunteers through phone calls and meetings.
Attend local events to recruit volunteers, build new community relationships, and strengthen existing relationships within designated turf.
Submit required reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment numbers.
Meet daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals as well as brainstorm ways to creatively engage volunteers and voters in your designated turf.
Ideal Experience and Characteristics:
Volunteer or internship experience in a campaign environment, or a history of issue advocacy and activism.
Demonstrated cultural competence and the skills needed to work meaningfully with those who are culturally different from the self; a commitment to fostering a positive working environment grounded in the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Highly organized and independent work style; a strong ability to multitask and communicate.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build relationships, listen, collaborate, and lead with respect and professionalism.
Willingness to work unconventional hours and 6/7 days a week.
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred but not required
