JOB DESCRIPTION

The Democratic Party of Oregon is hiring entry level and experienced Field Organizers for its

campaign to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Oregon.

 

The ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented and responsible self-starters with proven

leadership and community organizing skills, and who can adapt to a changing campaign

environment.

 

This position is overtime eligible. Applicants should be prepared to work at least 40 hours a week,

and up to 60 hours a week as we approach Election Day. Evening and weekend work will be

required. A few part-time positions may be available in certain regional offices.

Duties include but are not limited to:

● Recruit, train and organize volunteers to participate in door-knocking, phonebanking and

other voter outreach programs.

● Meet all benchmarks for voter contact and volunteer recruitment on a daily, weekly, and

monthly basis.

● Execute the statewide field strategy and plan within your region assigned.

● Assist candidates and surrogate events within your region.

● Build and engage a diverse network of supportive organizations and individuals to support

campaigns.

● All other duties as assigned.

Required:

● Enthusiasm for Democratic politics.

● Great time management and organization skills.

● Ability to train and instruct volunteers.

● Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and

verbally.

● Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established timelines.

● Ability to meet strategic goals and work effectively with regional and local leaders.

● Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic

backgrounds.

● Reliable internet and phone access.

 

Preferred:

● Any past Democratic campaign or volunteering experience.

● Experience with Voter Activation Network (VAN) or Vote Builder.

● Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive).

This is a full-time position. The position comes with an hourly pay of $25.13 - $27.32 per hour,

based on experience and training. Benefits include fully paid health, vision, and dental

coverage, and mileage reimbursement for qualifying travel. Coordinated Campaign staff will

receive a stipend for phone and home internet access, and technology support will be

provided as needed. This position is represented by the Campaign Workers Guild.

This is not a remote position, and the applicant must be an Oregon resident or be

willing to establish Oregon residency.
